Celts Take Down the Bulldogs

SEGUIN, TX — The University of St. Thomas men's basketball team added another strong performance to their season with an 83-71 victory over Texas Lutheran University on the road. The victory advances the Celts to an 11-1 overall record and solidifies their status as the only undefeated team in conference play at 3-0. 
 
The Celts started the game with energy, jumping out to an early 7-2 lead before the Bulldogs answered back, narrowing the score to 13-11. A thunderous dunk by Nicholas Buffalo gave UST the spark they needed to pull ahead 22-16. However, Texas Lutheran showed resilience on their home court, tying the game at 22. The Celts responded with a dominant 15-2 run to close the half, entering the break with a 37-24 advantage. 
 
In the second half, the Bulldogs fought to close the gap, keeping the contest within reach. With eight minutes left, UST clung to a 55-50 lead. The Celts then tightened their grip on the game, extending their lead in the final three minutes and maintaining control to secure the victory. 
 
Andrew Adebo led the Celts with a standout performance, recording 21 points while shooting 8-of-11 from the field. He also grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 4 assists, showcasing his versatility. Charles Gitonga added 14 points and 4 rebounds, making an impact on both ends. Angel Johnson chipped in 13 points, including a perfect 9-of-10 from the free-throw line, and contributed 4 assists and 4 steals to energize the team. Off the bench, Marion Williams scored 12 points, while Gavin Davis added 9 points, connecting on 3 three-pointers.
